‘Love, Politics and War’ out now.
It took a bit longer than expected but the newly released “Love, Politics & War” kept to its original beginnings of mostly traditional instruments and sounds!
J. Seneca is storyteller exploring the passage of time and the paradoxes of being human.
Growing up on a healthy diet of Eric Clapton, Dan Fogelberg, and the Indigo Girls, his style is heavily influenced by classic, folk, and soft rock. Elton John-style piano solos and nods to Joni Mitchell’s guitar voicing are woven throughout his music. Soulful yet upbeat, J. Seneca’s music has an aftertaste of bitter wisdom that lingers past the sweetness of the melody.
His recently released album ‘Love, Politics and War’ explores the messy, often contradictory nature of the human condition by exposing the dangers of dogma, the unreliability of memory, and the subjectivity of our own perspectives. The outcome is a densely layered collection of acoustic strings, piano – even bassoons, with lyricism that offers up a stark portrayal of our current reality.

May your sorrows be only enough to make your joys brilliant and bright.
